Our clients just purchased their new home and were starting completely from scratch.
She had a Pinterest board full of ideas. He had a clear sense of what he loved. But turning two different visions into one cohesive space — for a couple, with two kids, in a brand new home — that’s where they needed help.
So we started with a conversation.
During their Room Strategy Session, we worked through what they each wanted and found the common ground. What emerged was a shared vision that felt like both of them — bold and cozy, earthy and sophisticated, warm enough to feel like home and stylish enough to feel like a retreat.
What Our Client Wanted
They were leaving everything from their previous home behind. This space was getting all new furniture — a fresh start, built exactly the way they wanted it.
The bedroom needed to feel tranquil and cozy, but with real personality. Warm neutrals like cream, beige, and brown. Cool neutrals like black, white, and gray. And a lot of black — because they both loved the boldness of it. Bronze accents, geometric and stripe patterns, and natural textures rounded out the vision.
They also wanted a sitting area where the whole family could gather — comfortable seating for all four of them right inside the room.
Their go-to stores? HomeGoods, Wayfair, and Pottery Barn. Liveable luxe. Accessible but intentional.
What We Did Together
With their shared vision mapped out, we built a design plan that honored both of their styles without compromise.
Black became the anchor — showing up boldly in furniture, accents, and key design moments throughout the room. Warm and cool neutrals were layered together to keep the space feeling balanced and inviting rather than stark. Bronze accents added warmth and depth. Geometric and stripe patterns were woven in through textiles to add visual interest without overwhelming the calm they were after.
Every furniture selection, every texture, every finish was chosen with this family in mind — beautiful enough to feel like a true retreat, liveable enough for real life with two kids.
